I havnt tried one of these but Google thermal adapter for rifle scopes. They seem to be gaining in popularity. I first saw one on the end of a swaro. Seems to make use of the excellent glas and mechanical magnification with the digital thermal imaging.

This is my coyote rifle.

What pulsar scope is that and how do you like it?

Pulsar Thermion 2 XP 50 Pro
It works very well. I also have a Pulsar Thermion Duo DXP50

I have tried options from Sig, Burris and Sightmark in that price point.

The Sig echo clip on has a very unique offering because it’s a lifetime warranty. I’ve never seen that on a thermal before. It’s usually just two years. The Sig is a little over budget though, but still a decent deal.

Burris has a great clip on at well as the bt35. I killed a couple coyotes with it. Worked very well. Resolution seemed better than the specs say.

Sightmark also has the mini wraith. Under budget and works well. I haven’t spent a ton of time with it but Cameraman Garret showed me some footage with ours that looked pretty impressive.

I don’t know that I can say which is best, unfortunately. I haven’t spent enough time with them. But all of them worked well in the time I used them.

If you can wait a few months this ranging thermal from Arken is supposed to be available in the U.S. next month for < $2k. I have one of their ranging night vision scopes and it’s fantastic for the price.

To add to this, I’ve had (and still have) several thermal scopes and you get what you pay for, I’ve had a hard time finding a decent thermal for under $4k. If this thermal scope truly comes out for around $2k it will be a tremendous value.

Has anyone used the atn Thor 5? They seem to be a good deal but i can’t find many reviews on them

We are currently running 6 different thermals here in south Louisiana. My choice brand is certainly pulsar for the price/quality. But for the amount you are looking to spend i can’t see you beating the AGM rattlerv2 . It is definitely the most used thermal we have. Very simple great usability at a very good price point. Getting the correct base magnification is very important. We have 4 thermals from agm, some being monoculars. Love them all. My very first thermal scope was a pulsar apex. It’s still in use to this day and another fav. That’s my 2cents after 9 years of thermal.

Seems like you know your thermals. So I’ve narrowed my choices down to the thor 5 3-12 with the lrf built in. The other option I’ve found is the pulsar thermion xq35 the pulsar is $2500 and does not come with a built in range finder. The atn is $2000 in your opinion what is the better of the two.

I would certainly run as fast as possible from thor. We have had nothing but issues with ours nearly 10k wasted in my experience.

I bought a ATN Thor charged it, took it to my hunting lease, and it would not turn on. I purchased it at Scheel’s and returned it. Scheel’s informed me they stopped carrying ATN because of all the problems.

I would seriously consider the pulsar over the atn . Pulsar makes good stuff, even the ir scopes are very good. I’m pretty sure agm makes the rattler with a lrf also. Just lately i saw them for 2900$ i think at bhp photo….? i think

I bought my Pulsar Thermion Duo DXP50 On Jan 3, 2024. I believe that Pulsar changed from 2 year warranty to a 5 year warranty on any scope purchased after Jan 1, 2024. I have a 5 year warranty on my Duo

Just out of curiosity what cartridge are you chambering with? I’m anxious to try The 6arc in one of ours. We already heavy into the 6.5 grendel, so as much as we love grendel im thinking 6arc is the logical next step.

As of right now the rifle is chambered in 223 wylde but I plan on changing it over to 22 arc

Awesome choice:+1::+1: i’m jealous
