I noticed that the entry is blank for the Berger Elite Hunter on “Jim’s quick take on Hunting Bullets”. Jim, do you have info on this bullet or not enough data to decide? Anyone else with significant experience have thoughts? I bought some Hornady ELD-x and looking for other options, that would make a great overall hunting round, that I can test against it, in case my rifle doesn’t like the ELD-x.
I have never hunted with that bullet but in general, Berger bullets provide very consistent BC’s, and very rapid expansion but lower penetration.
So probably not great for Elk if they have lower penetration?
A lot of people love them for elk. Just wait for a broadside shot and probably avoid quartering to.
