Tikka T3x build-ish

I recently picked up a used tikka t3x roughtech in 300wm. I have replaced the stock with an MDT hnt26 already and am really impressed with it so far.
My first question is, thoughts on replacing the trigger spring? I find personally the tikkas have an exceptional trigger but it seems like a cheap way to get the weight down even more. The rifle will be used for hunting suppressed 99% of the time, I find a 24” barrel to be a little unwieldy once a silencer is added to it.
So my second question is on a carbon barrel replacement. I can’t decide if I want to keep it a 300wm or go with a 7prc. Any thoughts on a 300wm with a 20” barrel Or a 7mm prc with a 20” barrel?

You will get better performance with 7prc with a 20” barrel than you will with a 300wm

Tikka Roughtech is an awesome choice. I might add a limbsaver recoil pad for either of these cartridges.

If you’re a hand loader, I’d definitely recommend the 7 PRC in a 20” barrel. I don’t often see 300wm in that short of a barrel so I’m not sure what that’d be like.

If you only shoot factory ammo, I’d opt for 300wm. More loads available so you can find one it likes.

Welcome to the community, great to see more enthusiasts!! Just to through it out, I would consider 300 WSM, I believe that you can change out the bolt stop in the Tikka to get a shorter throw. Love to see pics!

How difficult was it to replace the stock?

re Q1 - Is your group size satisfactory? If you’re not satisfied, trigger spring replacement is a pretty cheap step to take, even if it doesn’t yield an improvement.
If you’re getting good results, don’t mess with it.
