Friends, Help me… What I think I understand as (near) consensus is that the Tikka may not be the move for a 7 PRC but maybe that is less true if you’re planning to mostly rebuild it in time (Chasis, barrel, etc…).
My question is that right now a Bergara b14 wilderness is basically the same price as the Tikka. The Bergara is a little more robust feeling; might do better in the short term and i think has almost as good upgrade options. Would you all go with the Tikka or Bergara?
I have a bergara in 7prc. You’ll still need tame it. The backlight and backstop do a lot. The Tenet Limited 7 has been a game changer.
I have a Tikka. It’s not bad, but it’s not the Lite. It’s the Ace Game. With a brake on it, and a backstop, it’s nothing (but loud).
Wouldn’t want to lug it around a mountain, but it shoots well in my set up.
If you’re planing to use a suppressor go for the tikka. With the suppressor and the right load, they shoot great. See the accuracy database for that.
The Bergara’s generally have a bit more meat on the barrels if you don’t have a suppressor to take the whip.
