Just bought the v2 no name will report back Have the 55mm 2vets low profile ball with dual ARCA clamp
FYI, if anyone is buying a bog tripod and wants to upgrade and change the head on it just know not to buy the bog death grip infinite just buy the original bog death grip for as far as I can see the infinite does not have a methodology of unscrewing The head that comes with it. The bottom pieces, the hook that hold weights, is glued into place so you cannot get that out. I called Bob and discussed it with them and they said the head is not removable from the infinite. I have not tried the standard bog death grip, but all the videos showed that in the conversion you can unscrew the head on the original at least for the non infinite. They’ve done the videos for which spans back about two years and the most recent one is four months.
I put a ARCA ball on the OG Bog. I had the deathgrip for when I was hunting out of my blind, but now I just use it for my spotting scope at the range. It’s heavy.
Thanks Ben. Yeah I got like 3 triposd retured them all im sticking with teh two Vets No name V2 with the 55mm Ball from them with dual arca area 419
Lastly for a spotting scope tripod how would a manbilly be I have one here I bought to try out before I send It back, I need one for spotting Its light and rugged enough not for the heavy rifle but for a sotting scop eit seems perfect.
Manbily Carbon Fiber Hunting Tripod with 44mm Ball Head and Arca Swiss & Picatinny Adapters, 63" Heavy Duty Stable Inverted Tripod for Hunting, Shooting, and Outdoors (WZ-2836)
Anybody here try the Black Ovis tripods? I know they make some pretty good stuff but looking for real life review on the tripod
I am sorry but you are incorrect. I have two Infinites and had no problem removing the old arca head and replacing it with a better one.
Furthermore I use the BOG Arca from the Infinite to make a arca benchrest.
Thanks for the heads up. As I said I called them and they said It was not possible with out destroying It How did you get the. Bottom hook off of the. Tripod? Is there a bolt that gets exposed ? Thanks
Yes, there are 2 allen screws on the top of the Arca mount.
Thanks Why would Bog not tell me that stupid…
What model Leofoto are you using? I bought a sirui but it seems a little too light and flimsy.
Leofoto MA-30 Low-Profile Inverted Ball Head Arca, but it’s discontinued but you might find it on eBay, buy this is the replacement model now MA-40
Leofoto SO-362CX Inverted Outdoors Series Carbon Fiber Tripod with 75mm Bowl + Platform × 1
Awesome, thank you so much. Going to order one of these today
LN-364C Carbon fiber with Really Right Stuff BH-55 LR ball head.
I tried a Tricer X2 tripod in a store today. I would not use that thing. The leg locks aren’t strong enough. Even when fully tightened, I was able to push down with minimal effort. No good.
Thanks for that info, Ben. Bought that tripod based on your comment and threw out my old heavy one today. I’ve only had it to the range one time, but feel it is something I can carry when chasing elk or belly crawling through a stubble field chasing antelope.
@backfire It would be pretty cool if you could make a high quality tripod in the $400-600 range. I bet they would sell like hotcakes
I’d love to do that at some point. For now, Leofoto is really good at that price.
I have two tripods now using one is fat boy tripod too bulky for packing around but super stable for shooting and a spartan springbok tripod and it is great I got my first elk this year using it with Tate Bradfield at 465 yds
