Has anyone had any experience with the BOG DeathGrip Infinite Carbon Fiber Tripod? How does It stack up for shooting and for scope use? Thanks
I had some Bog products and they failed on me in the field. I don’t trust the brand to make quality gear.
I own several sunwayfoto tripods and they are great for the price. I just bought a higher end Leophoto tripod and will see how it does but they look nice. RRS makes very high end stuff and I’ve always liked them but they are pretty pricey.
I also don’t care for BOG. I have a Sirui ST-124 w a vx5 head for glassing and RRS anvil 30 for shooting. That RRS head is expensive ($430), but it’s very stable and is compatible with arca and piccatiny rail set ups.
@backfire Any chance you your team has explored developing a tripod?
It all seems insanely overpriced and you don’t even get a head included with the tripod usually.
We’ve looked at it. It’s kind of odd how tripods are being priced. They’re offering retailers 50% margins. Seems like it’d open an opportunity for someone to sell direct to consumer for half the cost but I haven’t seen anyone succeed with that.
Have you thought of a review of the offerings out there? There are so many they look the same and the prices are wildly all over the place thanks for all you do
@jferreira414 thanks for the thoughts between glass and shooting. For right now I’ll be getting one for a spotting scope I think for range etc and as I get set up for the field I’ll look at shooting pods
Thanks all for sharing your experience with BOG. I was seriously looking at their products.
Me too I bought one showed up today from Amazon returned It un opened
I have a couple of the carbon fiber BOGs. First thig I did was to change the Arca ball mount. Made a lot of difference.
So you find It stable.. What head did you buy?
I got it off Amazon. Amazon.com is the link. I have bought 3 of them. I have 2 deer stands on my lease, and I leave one in each of them. I also carry one on my side by side. Says it isn’t available at this time, but there are a bunch of different ones on Amazon.
Two vet tripods are really good and are used by many in the long range shooting courses.
Along with this head
Leofoto MA-30 Low-Profile Inverted Ball Head Arca /RRS/ Picatinny Compatible
@RRCoffman1 Did you need a ball head conversion kit like this to add the head? I saw a big today in a stir seemed very sturdy. Thanks
glad to hear from you on BOG as I was considering their shooting sticks.
do you have positive experience with / recommendations for shooting sticks (as opposed to tripods & bi-pods)?
DITTO here. Browning Max LR 300 WIN MAG no issues. I also have the ARCA Swiss on and it works well also. Light weight, stays on target. I have the Browning Recoil Hawg muzzle brake on it, i modified it a bit to stay on target better.
So, I found this guy on Amazon and for the price it’s been unbeatable.
I went without the ARCA ball as I wanted something more robust. the 2vets ball with the area 419 clamp was my choice and it’s been outstanding:
That’s my set up. Leofoto and RRS ball head.
Has anyone used two vets
That’s all I used, great platform!
