Sounds like a blast!
Ben,
I am interested.
Feral hogs are a huge problem! They destroy flora and fauna, and spread disease. The problem is only getting worse, especially in Texas. At the rate it’s going it won’t be long before land owners will be begging or paying for help to control the problem instead of charging unreasonable fees.
I am seeing lots of dead hogs along the side of roads that are not being eaten by anything, so what do other animals know that we don’t?
Not many predators out there anymore compared to the number of feral hogs.
I saw lots of uninterested vultures roosting nearby the dead hogs.
The vultures are eating all the other road kill except the hogs.
Mmm, bacon. ![]()
Are wild hogs good to eat? Either way, if my schedule allows it, I’m all in!
Ever hear the saying you are what you eat? Hogs eat everything including themselves. My game processor won’t process them.
I would be interested in learning more about it,
Interested. I love me some chicharrones
Sorry for no replies on this in some time. I have a few outfitters I am sorting through. Life got ridiculous these last couple months. I will have something solid for y’all in a week or two.
Ben,
Thank you for the update. Looking forward to the dates proposed.
Robert
I believe Processors have to completely sterilize the area when doing beef or pork due to trichinosis so some choose simply not to do pork.
I’m interested
Feral Hogs eat any and everything including themselves. The old saying “You are what you eat” applies. None of my processor will do Feral Hogs. Most feral hogs are very lean in the 100 to 150 pound range so you have to put a lot of fat in the processing. If you want sausage, my processor say he can get USDA Pork Shoulder and make the best sausage you will ever eat.I have shot hundreds processed one early, never since.
If you shoot a 50 pounder that is a different story. In Texas we call them Grillers. Put it on the smoker and let er go
I’m in for the Hunt
