Hi everyone, just joined and super excited! Been watching the YouTube channel for a while and absolutely love it! Some of the best information out there for sure.
A little about myself, I live in South Africa and am a professional hunter and outfitter. I’m originally from Switzerland and grew up going on driven boar hunts with my father, that’s where I got my passion for the outdoors and hunting.
I shoot everything from a .22 hornet up to a .470NE, but my favorite guns are my Bergara wilderness ridge 300 PCR and my Sauer 200 8x68s
I just purchased a 7prc bergara square crest that I will keep in the US for when I travel and hunt there. I try to come at least once a year to do some hunting. So far only a few whitetail but hope to get a fall black bear in South Carolina next year. Tried this year but no luck unfortunately. If anyone has any tips feel free to let me know. Looking to maybe add a .22 Creedmoor and a turkey gun and duck gun in the near future and that should pretty much cover it all.
I’m lucky to have a lot of clients states side that let me hunt and experience different adventures on their properties. My favorite at this point is probably duck hunting in the flooded timber in Arkansas.
I’m actually looking to emigrate to the US with my wife and my 2.5 year old daughter and 9 month old son, most probably next year, as South Africa is unfortunately no longer a place to raise children and set them up to have opportunities later in life. I hope that will change again one day but as of now I don’t see a bright future here.

Hi Jim, thanks for the offer! Unfortunately May is one of our prime hunting times and I’m already fully booked so won’t have a gap. But I would definitely love to join you on a hunt in the near future sometime!
I’m just busy revamping my website so once it’s up and running again I’ll post a link. Our home base is in the waterberg mountains of Limpopo about 3 hours drive north of Johannesburg. But I hunt very vast concessions in the eastern and northern cape as well. In the northern cape I have exclusive access to over 70,000 acres of low fence prime hunting areas. Some great springbuck, blesbuck, mountain reedbuck kudu and a lot more!
I have attached a picture of a klipspringer I recently hunted in our main area in Limpopo. It is the new SCI #2 for sure, potentially the new #1 but I need to wait for the 60 day drying period before I can get an official measurement.
Once we move to the states and I’m guiding less in Africa I would love to join you on some hunts and learn all I can about the animals your side of the pond from you!
My plan is to still guide in Africa occasionally with certain clients but mostly act as an agent and connect clients with outfitters that I trust and have worked with for many years and that I know will always produce top quality experiences.
Is this an offer to join you on a black bear hunt? lol. I just moved to Eagle, ID this last year from Utah. A black bear hunt is something I have been wanting to do this year or next year.
I would definitely be interested in putting a trip together for a black bear hunt. Would for sure want to talk to you more about this as it gets closer. Keep me posted please
