Vortex Viper HS vs everything

So, I run a Tikka T3x 6.5 cm special edition.
She’s a beauty!
Ive always used hand-me-down guns and scopes, but this was my first rifle… mine.
I saw a Vortex Viper HS 4-16x44 duplex reticle on sale for $700 CAD. I know Vortex has lifetime warranties… so I thought it was a good choice.

Now that im doing my own research, doing recon on my land, which is mostly hills that lead down into pasture, water, and woods. And ive been cleaning up.some coyotes here and there.

Ive noticed that all of my shots and all of the deer and moose on my land is at least 300-400 yards away; from an elevated position.

Should i be looking at a.different scope?
My family all use MOA, so thats our language, for now… and we all have vortex scopes; again, because of availability.and warranty. (Cabelas)

Ive seen some burris eliminator III’s online for $1300 (discontinued) eliminator IV for $1800… i thought about them, but are they overkill for the shots ill be taking?
What else is out there that can slam at those ranges, has a great warranty, and maybe a better ffp reticle?

Cheers

Vortex makes some good optics, but the reason I rarely talk about them is because nearly EVERY TIME I put equal price vortex optics up against a Burris or Element or Maven, the other companies absolutely CRUSH the Vortex in clarity and functionality.

Nothing against Vortex, but in my opinion, they are shipping junky glass with a fancy wrapper in many cases.

Leupold Mark IV, Burris Eliminator (amazing! And not overkill), etc would be better options in my opinion.

Thanks my man!
Much appreciated.

I have 4 of those. And I think good for hunting. But I have a contact that gets me that stuff for 1/2 msrp. I have a leupold contact now as well and that is like 45% off - so not quite the same deal but I am switching to more leupold. I want to try other brands but it is hard to go away from the discounts I can get.
My main complaint for my vipers is in low light. I have the 44mms and at 100 yds I cannot see deer antlers in the last 5 minutes of light. And here in Oregon that is the hunting time every day for blacktails - the last 5 minutes. Mostly. Sometimes during rut better but main season is not during rut.

Alright, you talked me out of it.

Talk to me about great glass…

Ive been looking at the swarovski Z3, the zeiss conquest 4 and others.

My neck of the woods seems to be a year or so behind

Either swaro of Zeiss will get you the top of the line for glass. Tough to argue with the reputation of either.

How would you compare the Burris Veracity PH 4-20x50 vs the Vortex Razor LHT 4.5-22x50?
