Warm Weather Affecting Idaho Bear Hunt

Hey folks,

Couple questions for the more seasoned hunters of Idaho. With the winter being as warm as it is right now here, what can be expected for spring weather/snow levels?
How does this affect bear behavior in spring? Are they coming out of hibernation earlier?
Trying to plan a hunt for bear in spring, but I’m not sure what to expect with snow levels.

Thanks!

I’m no expert, but the bears like to hang out 500 or 1000 feet below the snow line as things start to thaw out. There’s rich greeen up in those spots.

So if the snow melts early, you may have more success in April/May rather than May/June.

It’s still very early for the snow pack though. Just a few major storms can totally change things.

Where in Idaho are you headed? That’s my home state so I know it pretty well.

Im in Nampa, so weighing all the options within 3ish hours. But theres some spots at the north end of 22 where i’ve had great success in the past.
Right on, you put my mind at ease with that comment haha Really hoping we get some good snow coming down here soon!
