I have regularly used passive ear protection but get tired of having to take them off to hear someone speak. Does anyone have recommendations for the new electronic stuff?
I use the axil xcor their really nice and work well as long as your not shooting big magnums with muzzle brakes. I used them with a 338 lapua magnum they worked but wish I had ear phones over them. Other than that they are pretty much good for 90%. The noise isolation and enhancement work amazing
I am selling my Axil XCor Pros… Let me know if your interested.
Did you find something better ?
Not really, they just fall out of my ears like most ear buds do. Issue is withy ears, not the ear pro.
Should try custom eartips from adv?
Axil they are good but not as good as noise cancelling muffs
I use the Axil XCor Pro. I am also an RSO at my local range where I am exposed to constant gunfire for hours. I have found the XCor Pro work just as well for me as over the ear noise canceling muffs, which become very uncomfortable when worn for prolonged periods. Of course due to individual anatomy, not everyone can use the ear bud type.
I have a set of AXIL GS Extreme 2.0 but have the issue of them coming out of my ear. I use them when cutting wood with a chainsaw. Maybe they would work better a the range if you aren’t moving around so much.
I just received the custom molded Tetra in ear protection. I’m still learning how to use them, but they fit extremely well (as they should) and they block the sound when a gun shoots very well. They come in a higher price point, but I’m hoping to buy once cry once.
How much were those?
They had a turkey convention special for around $1,150. Again super expensive but so far I’ve liked them. Also they do qualify for HSA if you have one of those.
