What’s everyone looking forward to seeing at Shot Show 2024?

My Top 3:

  1. More factory ammo options for 7 PRC

  2. Gunwerks Clymr stock redesign. Was initially told it would be out around Christmas, but I’m guessing it will be re-released at shot show.

  3. Image Stabilized Binoculars

Honorable Mention:

  • A revolutionary new 3rd focal plane scope! :joy::joy:

You’re going to get #1 from Remington and I’ve seen some accuracy results that surprised me to be coming out of Remington.

#2 I’m only kind of interested in. Didn’t love the Clymr. Gunwerks needs to admit that adjustable comb aids in accuracy. But there are some cool stocks coming out.

I don’t know of anyone doing #3.

As for guns, there are two I’m EXTREMELY excited about that I’ve been shooting for a while.

I’m looking forward to other manufacturers offering the 7 PRC ammo for hunting AND target. All I can see are the Hornady Outfitter, the Precision Hunter and the EDL-M target at my local Cabelas in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. Even those are in scarce supply.

Yea my jets were cooled down considerably when i found 7mmprc cartridges running at $3,25
a round maybe it just california but thats too steep

Here is Edmonton, Alberta, the Precision Hunter 7mm PRC sells for just under $4 per round. That is quite competitive with other 7 mm, or 300mm rounds. I heard that Hornady has some competition coming at Shot Show this year for this caliber. Hopefully we can benefit from better prices.

.308 is dropping the game for me all day long and it cheap (er). Generally I don’t shoot past 200 yards. that’s the right side of my brain talking. The left side say get the 7mm PRC start reloading and get into the long range game and have some fun… And it will happen, in year or two…

Correction, the 7MM PRC is now $5.78/round at the local Cabelas ($110/20 + 5% tax). As soon as I have indulged in a few boxes, I will start reloading.

The .308 is still my go-to hunting rifle, and will likely be for a while. I have a 6.5 that I setup for target, not convinced that it is that much better for moose & elk here in Northern Canada. And, I have lost of ammo for the .308.

$110 a box? What country is that in? For Hornady?

Jim, I’m in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. Yes, it is the Hornady Precision Hunter 175 gr. Same price for the Outfitter 130gr. Makes me love my .308.

Agreed ! I live in California but all of my hunting is in Missouri Where I’m very confident I can drop game under 300 yards with my .308 Ruger scout , that being said Jim and the backfire pod cast has me itching to hone my long range skills and I thing the 7 mm PRC is the future of that game.
