What to re barrel in?

I have got a Remington 700 stainless in 25-06 rem and looking to re barrel in something new and a new trigger to go with it. I am thinking the Timney hit trigger. Any thoughts on that I am not very familiar with Timney triggers. I want to use the rifle for hunting the lower 48. I already have a 300 win mag and a 300 prc along with a 6.5 creed. I am thinking 257 weatherby or 280 AI for the re barrel. I am curious what your guys thought are on those and or other options. I am a hand loader too so I am open to lesser known cartridges.

300 Super WSM could be really fun

Both of those are great options as is the 300 super as Jim mentioned. All three are definitely for hand loaders though

Lot of people love the Sherman’s. No direct experience with them myself.

Also a lot of love for the 6.5-284. However that’s going to duplicate your Creedmoor. Same for the 6.5 Swede.

The newer 25 WBY RPM sounds interesting. Better Barrel life than the Magnum and able to shoot the higher BC Bullets that everyone loves now.

You mentioned hunting the lower 48, so I would expect elk as part of your intention? If so, most guides/experienced elk hunters would prefer a .277 as the smallest bullet diameter which automatically cancels the quarter bore. If elk is not part of the plan that definitely opens up the options for smaller bore sizes.

Have you researched the 25-06 AI? I found they are running right there with the RPM or better, close to the WBY magnum performance. You will need a 1:7.5 twist in the barrel which will stabilize the 145gr bullets at hyper velocities. Presently I am gathering the components for the build on a Savage 110 Magnum action and looking at Crown Ridge to make the barrel,
