Just picked up my Bergara BTI 30 and saw a used Tikka in 223. It’s $426. Correct me if I’m wrong but Tikka actions are all the same and I can just change the barrel and bolt to make something I want with this right?
If correct is $426 a good deal?

yes good deal, action length is the same for all tikka, bolt face is probably different though for .223 vs larger cartridges
Thanks Alex. Ran the action, very smooth. Was a T3X lite. Would get just for the action. Not sure what I would do with it yet, might make my 25 Creedmoor out of it instead of my Aero Solus, or maybe a 22 CM.
The bolts are expensive. Like 300-500. If you didn’t want the 223 bolt face, you could have it machined to the larger bolt face. Not sure how much that would be. If you have a regular bolt face from a different tikka you could just use that as well.
Wow, thanks for that. 100% as buying new would be cheaper.
Or get it and make it into a 6mm ARC or 22nosler
Their is a new company that produces aftermarket bolts for tikka I forgot what the company is but their on YouTube
I’m curious. Is it the Canadian company, PR precision? I believe they charge 350 for the bolt body. I would like for there to be more options but I haven’t really found much. The cheapest way I’ve found to do tikka builds is purchase whatever model has the correct bolt face off of vendors like Europtic. Or share bolts if you have the right size and then get a stripped action from J&A outdoors.
Is it an 8 or 12 twist? If it’s an 8 for that price it would be an excellent 223ai candidate.
Just find a smith to push the chamber out.
