Where Can I See a Tikka T3X Game?

I’m in the DFW area. Called two different Bass Pro shops, Defender Outdoors and some smaller shops. No one has one in stock & most people haven’t heard of them. Any idea where I can see one in North or Central Texas?

Scheels would be the only other place I think might have one in stock. Still really new, might not find it sitting on a shelf anywhere.

Yes, I called them yesterday too.

Not that it will help you to handle one but I just picked up one today. It’s heavy which is really what I was looking for, for my first 300WM. If there is anything I could answer or give you a close up picture of, let me know. Obviously I have not shot it yet.

Thanks William, what is the actual weight of the rifle alone?

Is yours a Game or Target model?

I have the Game model in 300WM. As of right now, the Target models are only offered in .223, .308, and 6.5 Creedmoor. Without adding anything to it, it’s right at 10 lbs.

William,

What finish did you go with?

I went with the bronze finish. It was slightly more expensive than the all black but what the heck.

How is it shooting William? Recommend it?

Yes it shot well at least after I burned a bunch of factory ammo trying to sort out my scope. It was around 1 MOA at 100 yards using H. precision hunter. I’m sure it would be better with hand loads and me taking it a little more seriously. I really like the chassis and had no trouble getting comfortable with it. The thumb rest is a little odd on the “game” version. it’s just a straight post but since the base is triangle shaped you can position it 3 different ways to find what you like. I thought that was cleaver.

I was shooting it with a DA Nomad can on it and was thinking… hey whats all the chirping about 300 WM being a spicy load, I bragged to my son. It didn’t feel all that different than shooting my 6.5 PRC. At the end of the day, I wanted to see what it was like without the can or brake. Ok, now I understand, it kicked the crap out of me. I’ll shut my pie hole and always use a suppressor or brake.

I did get a backstop recoil pad for it this week.

Oh and as far as recommending it. I’m a noob in the shooting and hunting world so I don’t know I’m qualified but I do really like it. I especially like the fact I could go out and buy another Tikka T3x in a different chambering and swap the chassis. I am confident that my grouping will get tighter as I get used to it and/or I would expect in a creedmoor or prc chambering it would be very accurate based on my experience with Sako rifles.
