Where to find Jim's prices

So I have been intrigued by the cheapest custom rifle video that Jim put out recently, but I can’t give those same prices.

The cheapest Howa barreled action I could find was from Brownells and it was $455 (if I do their sign up promo I could get 10% off). So that’s pretty close…but I’d rather find the $400 action.

My next search was for the barrel and they nickel and dime you to death at outlier. The 16” barrel was $199 (anything extra costs more). To chamber the barrel was an extra $45 and another $45 to fit the Howa action. So that’s $289. Cheap, but not $200.

I did find the MDT field stock for around $300.

So my question is, am I looking in the right places? I’m not exactly looking to buy right now, just wanting to confirm real world prices.

Sounds Ike Outlier has increased their prices since I bought a couple months ago.

I bought the Howa barreled action for $399 on Brownell’s, but it may have also increased in price the last two or three months since I bought mine. My guess is that video is gonna sell a LOT of Howa actions, lol.

@backfire how smooth is the Howa action compared to a Tikka? if Tikka is a 10?

It has more of a zipper sound but I haven’t had issues with it binding up or anything. Feeding is good.

Ahh, maybe it’s a tarrif issue. I suppose I’ll have to keep an eye on things around black Friday. Wonder if a heavier Howa barrel profile would have better accuracy, eliminating the need for a separate barrel purchase.
