For my upcoming elk in CO, which I went on last year as well, I plan to take a range finder and not my RF binos because there are maybe 2 or 3 spots where I would be shooting at over 150yards and most of my potentials shots would be under 80. I got rid of my RF a couple years ago when I got my Furys. I just need something to do the job accurately, quickly and cheaply. Any recommendations?
Vortex Crossfire 1400 would do the job.
I just bought the leupold 1400 with the ballistics for $200 they are pretty good, i wish they had more modern cartridges and loads in their catalog though

Just walked out to the truck to check.
It’s not instant but pretty dang quick. Further the target the longer but 560 yards was about half a second.
I do need to check and see if the display brightness is adjustable mine is very light. Not daylight bright at all.
