Women's wingshooting training recommendations

My wife has gotten into waterfowl hunting and would like to improve her wingshooting ability. We were shooting 5 stand recently and she was getting pretty frustrated. An experienced female shooter was nice enough to offer a few pointers and I immediately realized a few things…

  1. There are subtle but important differences anatomically between male and female shotgun shooters especially in areas like cast and comb.

  2. It’s possible that spouses are not always the best fit for coaching. My wife seemed to get more out of 15 minutes with her than a year working with myself or other male instructors.

I would really like give her the opportunity at some training that she would get the most out of. I just can’t seem to find a by women for women shotgun training school/clinic. Most things specific to women are either self-defense or the most basic intro type classes where the shooting is a just a few rounds the last day. Private coaching may be an option, but I think she would have a blast hanging out with like minded ladies for a week without all the distractions of home life. Has anyone had any experiences or has a recommendation for a women’s wingshooting shooting clinic?

Hm. Sorry, I don’t know of a good resource, but that’s a great problem to have! Seems like every guy wants their wife to get into shooting, so you’re lucky to have an interested wife!

I attended an Orvis wingshooting school and thought it was well run. Don’t know if they do anything specific for females differently or not. Might want to check them out
