Jim, I remember you discussing air mattresses for hunting on one of your podcasts. You mentioned how, when you were younger, it didn’t matter much, but after turning 40, comfort became essential. Unfortunately, I can’t find that episode, and I didn’t write down the recommendation.
Do you (or the community) have any suggestions for a good camping or hunting air mattress?
Im about to turn 44 in case the stiffness of my joints were in question.
If comfort is what you’re looking for then I would look into the Exped MegaMat 10. Keep in mind, it’s not a backpacking sleeping pad. It’s the perfect pad to use if you’re hunting out of a base camp though. I used one this past season for 7 nights and slept great.
Agreed with Steve. Exped Megamat is what I use on any trip that I’m not backpacking. In fact, I’ve been known to sneak it into my gun room for a quiet nap when the kids are loud. It’s amazingly comfortable.
