Backfire chassis release date

Ah, excellent. Great thinking on your part. From reading the thread, it seems no detail, regardless how miner, did not escape you during the design. You have accounted for just about everything and at that price, it’s a steal.:+1:

Oh, I see. Read your comment wrong. I mean, you could do it but I honestly think this super light chassis would be totally wrong for a 338 lapua. You’d get much better results in a heavier chassis like an XRS.

@backfire if we wanted to weight It a little for the range and long distance could a really heavy arc rail be added? Just a thought.

Yeah, there are mlok slots on the forend that can accept weights, but given how light the chassis is, you’d want to add weight to the back in this case. We will have a weight kit eventually but it’ll probably only add one pound.

I think weights will be nice for off-season training but it’ll probably only still won’t be a replacement for a heavyweight precision chassis.

Thanks @backfire

If you are looking to add weight you can look at the Da’ Shaft from DST Precision. It is a 4 lb weight you clamp on a arca rail and then simply take off when you do not need the weight. You can add sections to it as well to make it up to 8 lbs or so. I used to use it to balance a rifle for competitions.

@backfire have you built a rifle with your chassis yet and if so, what did you build? I can keep a secret.

Put it on my 280ai.

but Stiller (same company as Horizon) now has barreled actions for just $1500. That’s my next build for sure. Their rifles are very accurate. I’m gonna get a 25 prc for the next one.

You mentioned that 25 PRC before, is that a wildcat?

Yeah it is.

Any chance you’ve been able to find a good POC to help Backfire get a booth at the Western Hunt Expo? Would be great to see the new chassis in person, but I remember you saying it was a nightmare trying to get a spot.

Will the stage saver be a part of every chassis or is it going to be like, select from these optional features when ordering and it will print out a customized chassis with the options you’ve selected?

Stage saver will come standard.

I wish we could go to western hunt but they won’t give us a booth.
