Favorite hunting boots

What is every one’s favorite hunting boots. I had a car accident and bought a pair of the Kenetrex Everstep 400 boots. These boots are incredible. They stick like glue to rocks and the support for my feet are amazing. Anyone else use these boots? If not what do use?

I have a couple but mostly use the Crispi Summit GTX. Excellent support for the ankles and great for a pack out. Very comfortable.

However, even though there are much heavier boots than these, I still want something lighter next time. Maybe the Crispi Lapponia.

Schnee’s Beartooth boots outclasses everything I have ever had. If money is no object I would pick these boots every time!

I really enjoy Danner for my boots. I’ve had great performance over the years and have never really had any blisters or anything that I can remember wearing them everyday for work and wearing them while hunting and hiking.

I use a slightly different boot than what all the big hunters use. Kenetrek and Crispi boots are awesome, very pricey. My choice of boot is the Catalyst VX Defiant 8" Gore-Tex 400g Hunting Boot by ariat. I have been using them for three season, Idaho hountains, Wyoming, Ohio, Kentucky. Rain, snow, mud, and Rocky Mountains. They have held up amazing, and I have never rolled an ankle while wearing them… great boot

I use the Kenetrek Mountain Extreme Uninsulated, really like those. I know they are expensive but if they save your feet/ankles while in the mountains in my opinion its worth it.

The best hunting boot is the best hiking boot that fits you well in my opinion. I hunt in Salomon boots because its like putting a second skin on to me.

I have a wide foot, I am a fan of Danner Proghorns for treestand whitetail, Cripsi uninsulated Nevadas for elk, and Merrel waterproof hikers for ground blind hunts. I usually wear the lightest footwear that I can get away with. I am not a fan of rubber boots although I understand the appeal. For cold hunt whitetail I use lower insulation (400) because they are less clunky, and use the hot hands full sole heat packs, works great. You can find them in bulk packs on Amazon and trade them to your buddies for whisky.

so what is the hot hands? works well?

Will order. Many thanks!

In my neck of the woods I don’t do a lot of hiking but I need my feet to be warm and dry.
I wear Muck Artic boots and have had no issues with them so far for the last five hunting seasons.
They are a rubber boot but for comfort, warmth and good traction they work great for what I need.
I will definitely look into the other boots mentioned as I am always looking for something better.

Muck artic’s are my boot of choice when I’m hunting in Ohio. They are amazingly warm and enough support for the terrain in Ohio where we hunt.

Ken I live and hunt in South Western Ohio.
My hunting is done in Brown, Adams, Pike and Highland county.
You are correct the Muck Artic boots are a great choice and out of the many rubber boots that I had tried these are by far the best.
Where in Ohio are you located if you don’t mind telling me?

Me and my family own a farm in SE Ohio between Jackson and Athens. Are you hunting public or private. Ohio has the best public land in my opinion.

Little both actually and I agree there are good spots of state land to hunt that are not hunted heavily.
When not on private property I mainly hunt state property, Brush Creek in Adams and Pike county.
You really are just down the street from me being in Jackson and Athens.

Where do you live? I currently live in Colorado but that will change very soon. We are moving back there this month. Looking for a house near Cincinnati as we speak. Can’t wait to live closer to our farm again.

I live in California, so I haven’t needed them for hunting, but I’ve used the hot hands for skiing. They work well.

Ken I live in Brown county in a little town of Mount Orab.
I am about 45 min from Cincinnati and 45 min from Peebles.

I know where that is. We have been looking for houses in that are as well as northern Ky.
