Hey backfire plus community, Hope all had great Thanksgiving, I Have been looking at suppressor posts but all are like a year old so I wanted to see if new info out.there. I am new to the suppressor world (now that i can legally own one) and looking at getting a suppressor for my 308 Tikka, and eventually a 6.5 PRC I plan on building next year. looking for your thoughts on the best, and the best budget friendly for each one and what is working for the real life users. Plus any tips and suggestions. Thanks
From what I have read, the Scythe Ti is a winner. I have the Banish 30 and it is really good, but the Scythe is lighter.
Scythe Ti or Dead air Nomad Ti are both awesome. I did have my scythe blow in half at the weld (no baffle strike), sent it in, and they had it back to me in 48 hours. They welded a who new can onto the serialized part. Bummed that happened, but very impressed with their cs.
Nomad Ti can be bought on euro optic right now for $819 in the silver color or $899 in fde
I have the following:
rugged oculus for the 22- love it!
Rugged obsidian 45- it’s ok bulky and heavy
SilencerCo Omega 300- heavy but a solid performer
Resilient Jolene S ti- love it! I don’t think you can get a better lighter can for the dollar.
But I have friend has the Rugged Alaskan 360 ti- he loves it, I think it’s one of the best do all cans that not to bulky and still light weight.
But for hunting can the Scythe Ti is still a gold standard
Dead Air Nomad LTI has been impressive. Something else that has been selling well here is the Diligent Defense Enticer LTI.
My all-time favorite suppressor is something I can’t reveal until December 16 ![]()
You’re making a suppressor too!?
No, not us. A brand you know though.
I gotcha. Yeah the suppressor market is booming right now.
Airlock Industries ?
Upcoming video I’m assuming
Thanks all for the inputs , all very helpful. very cool I will wait to see the new one in a couple weeks
I own a bunch of Cans and for hunting keeping weight down I love my Scythe I run it on everything from 22 creed up to 300 win mag I added the New Recoil X brake and I can truly say it tamed the win mag a noticeable pit, If you want little less expensive can my 300 Omega weighs more but is little quieter. I love hunting and shooting suppressed.
Thanks it appears the scythe used by a lot. also the dead airs but will look at the omega as well, also waiting to see what Jim’s new favorite is in couple of weeks
The new airlock cans seem to be next level. Lower end of the price range, lightest cans available, and yet all reports indicate that they are quieter than anything else in the light weight category! I just ordered their 6.5 can. Only adds 5.75oz and 4.3 inches to the rifle.
Suppressor market is just insane right now. Lot of new companies putting stuff out. 3D printed cans seem to have opened a lot of possibilities. Hadn’t heard of these guys until today, but I’ll be keeping an eye on this. That Nano seems ideal for a 22 CM if the noise reduction is accurate.
I hope Pew science or whoever continues to drive standardized testing. It’s so hard to get an apples to apples comparison on suppressors.
I’m curious to see what happens with things like the over the barrel design like Unknown Munitions is doing.
I had to google that airlock can, the size and sound is pretty impressive
The exo guys have raved about the airlock so far. I tend to trust those guys, a lot of good (unsponsored) info coming from them.
Just looked up the website, not a lot of cans to choose from yet, will be interesting to see how the 30 cal is once released, not a bad price as well. Also looked at some video but alsost all are from airlock still looking for good reviews, was the exo guys a pod cast?
